Montana is also known as "The Treasure State", because it is rich in minerals & gems. Montana is said to be the provider for a third of the world's sapphires. The main Montana Sapphire mines are located near Phillipsburg & Helena.
Montana Sapphires come in a rainbow of colors. The 38 different colors range from blue to green, yellow to orange, and purple to pink. Their color is often compared to the streams and lakes in Glacier National Park.
